Suzuki looks set to enter the fully-faired, 250cc segment in Nepal with a bang. The company will launch the much-awaited Gixxer SF 250 at this year’s show. This motorcycle debuts a new design language for Suzuki in India. The most eye-catching part about the motorcycle is the headlight with sharp edges that tie in nicely with the cuts and creases over the rest of the motorcycle.Powering the Gixxer SF 250 is a 249cc, single-cylinder, SOHC oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox that makes 26.5hp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. Suspension duty is taken care of by a telescopic fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear while braking is handled by discs on both wheels, the motorcycle also comes equipped with dual-channel ABS as standard. The Gixxer SF 250 will be going against some of the heavyweights in its segment and some above it which include the Yamaha Fazer 25, Honda CBR250R ABS, KTM RC 200, Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, and the Bajaj Dominar 400.In addition, the new Gixxer SF 150 will also be available at this year’s show. The new model borrows much of its styling from its big brother the Gixxer SF 250. The fairing has been revised and the motorcycle now gets sharp LED headlamp unit also seen on the bigger brother. Other changes include a new split-seat configuration, a sportier clip-on handlebar, a redesigned double-barrel chrome exhaust, and a tweaked instrument cluster. The bike shares the same mechanicals as the current SF series.
